About

About this journey

Staying in 5-star Wilderness camps, enjoy exclusive, private, wild game viewing, unrivalled style and comfort, and a range of activities for a full immersion in nature and local culture. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with activities such as game drives, nature walks, boating and mokoro excursions.

Who this suits

Serious wildlife travellers. The Linyanti is remote, private and predator-rich, and wild dog are a real possibility; the Delta half balances it with water and birdlife.

Good to know

Both areas are fly-in camps. Elephant are the Linyanti's prime attraction, with all kinds of antelope and the big predators alongside.

The journey

Day by day

Days 1 – 4 — Maun › Okavango Delta

Fly from Maun by light aircraft into the Okavango Delta. Spend four nights at two different Wilderness Camps in the Delta – Little Vumbura Camp and Qorokwe Camp (upgrade options are available).

Spend your time exploring magical waterways by mokoro (dugout canoe), motorised boats and customized 4×4 vehicles. Get closer to thrilling wildlife encounters on morning or afternoon game drives. Learn about other cultures and gaze in awe at some of the world’s greatest wonders.

Little Vumbura Camp: Set on a compact island with endless views of the floodplains, Little Vumbura is an airy, six-roomed tented camp shaded by the canopy of an ancient forest. Each well-appointed room has ensuite facilities and a deck with sweeping vistas. A pool and shaded seating area overlook the floodplains, a common area is perfect for gatherings, and a deck near the dining area offers superb stargazing. With few boundaries from the bush, wildlife seems almost within arm’s reach. Marvel at the sheer size of a buffalo herd, (hundreds-strong) moving between islands. Keep a lookout for endangered African wild dogs, a privileged sighting, and leopards staking their territories. Spot the resident elephant, often seen around the island, eating the sweet fruit dropped by the African mangosteen trees.

Qorokwe Camp: Qorokwe Camp has eight rooms with tented suites and indoor showers. In addition, its extra-spacious family unit has its own splash pool. The wonderful open dining and lounge area and bar are set on a raised deck, connected to the suites by walkways. Bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, famous for intense predator-prey encounters. Prepare for thrilling game drives tracking leopards in the wild. Spot a lioness hunting alone, closely watched by a pack of skulking hyenas, as the air vibrates with birdsong.

Days 5 – 7 — Okavango Delta › Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

Light aircraft transfer to Savuti Camp in the Linyanti for three nights. Activities include game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, boating, fishing, bird watching, viewing game from special “hides” in the bush and walking safaris.

Savuti Camp: Six spacious ensuite tents are perfectly positioned to take in the view over the Savuti Channel, which sporadically flows past camp. Spend quiet, peaceful hours in the hide and watch the wildlife drama unfold before your eyes. Savuti means ‘mystery’ – a fitting name for this wild and unpredictable landscape that has attracted travellers and explorers for years. Its ever-changing environment supports a remarkable variety of wildlife, from vast herds of antelope to the predators that follow.

Day 8 — Linyanti › Maun

Light aircraft transfer to Maun where arrangements conclude.
