About

About this journey

The banks of the Chobe National Park boast one of the densest populations of elephant on the African continent – estimated at approximately 120,000. The Park is also home to a large number of buffalo, leopard and lion, along with a variety of antelope and abundant birdlife. Navigating approximately 50 km of the Chobe River, enjoy moments such as waking up to the sight of an elephant drinking from the river or watching a fish eagle take flight, all from the comfort of your own luxurious bed.

Who this suits

Anyone who finds game drives dusty and long: here the safari comes to the riverbank, and you watch it from the deck. A gentle option for older travellers and a good pairing with Victoria Falls.

Good to know

The boats cruise the Chobe River between Botswana and Namibia, and the Chobe riverbank carries one of the densest elephant populations in Africa. Three nights is the standard cruise.

The journey

Day by day

Day 1 — Kasane › Chobe River Safari

This afternoon you will be collected from Kasane and transferred to the cruise. Cruise the Chobe river at sunset, with a welcome briefing and mouth-watering dinner.

Day 2 — Chobe River Safari

Relax on board with a good book and binoculars, or explore the spectacular Chobe River with a tender boat and an experienced guide, getting up close and personal to the wildlife and birdlife of the area. For the adventurous, try your hand at tiger fishing – one of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers most predatory fish! Indulge in a delicious onboard lunch and take time to relax by the splash pool or dive into a good book. Later in the day, revel in the panoramic surroundings with another thrilling tender boat safari. End your day with a mouth-watering dinner on the upper deck, embracing the serene African ambiance.

Day 3 — Chobe River Safari

Embark on your final full day with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea. After breakfast on board, you have the option for a game cruise on the water. Take time to relax and enjoy the buffet lunch, indulging in some well-deserved rest. Mid-afternoon, we recommend you head out for a final tender boat safari to soak up the spectacular sunset. For your last night on board, enjoy the sights and sounds of the African bush with a night cap under the stars with friends, new and old, after a delightful dinner.

Day 4 — Chobe River Safari › Kasane

Today be on the lookout for wildlife as you enjoy a morning cruise during your buffet breakfast. After breakfast prepare to disembark your cruise for passport control and then a short road transfer will take you to Kasane Airport.
